About your workshop presenter and tour guide, Craig Albery Your dedicated photographic instructor / tour guide has been perfecting the craft since 1972, going digital in August 2000. Excelling in landscapes, he held his first exhibition in WA in 1992, selling images to local residents and mining companies. He won several camera club competitions throughout 1993 – 1995, and opened a wedding and portrait studio in 1996, joining the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP) and being awarded Silver in several categories from 1998 to 2001. While a member of AIPP NSW, he achieved Associate status. Called upon regularly to judge camera club competitions, his work has appeared in nature magazines, tourism brochures and publications, on CD covers, Australian Photography magazine, and national commercial advertising campaigns. His work also represented Australia at the UNICEF Year of the Child exhibition in Italy in 1993. Craig has continuously managed a Blue Mountains-based tour company since 1995, also conducting regular photographic workshops in the Blue Mountains and safaris into the outback. Previously, he ran tours to Aboriginal sites in Western Australia's Pilbara region (1988 to 1990) and picked wildflower seeds for mining re-generation. His interests remain in photography, travel, Aboriginal art and culture, and Australian fauna and flora. |
